It is reported that on the afternoon of May 28, 2021, a leadership meeting (enlarged) was held in the State Grid Corporation of China. Entrusted by the leaders of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, a comrade from the relevant Cadres Bureau of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee announced the decision of the Central Committee on the appointment of the general manager of the State Grid Corporation of China: Comrade Zhang Zhigang was appointed as the director, general manager and deputy party secretary of the State Grid Corporation of China.
Zhang Zhigang was admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University in 1982. After graduating with a bachelor's degree, he stayed in the University to serve as an assistant in the power generation teaching and research office and a political counselor for students, and in 1992, he obtained a master's degree in power system and automation from Tsinghua University. He has served as a dispatcher of North China Power Management Bureau, Director of Production Technology Department, Director of Zhangjiakou Power Supply Bureau, Deputy Director and Director of North China Power Dispatching Bureau, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of Dispatching Bureau of North China Electric Power Group, Deputy Director and Director of National Power Dispatching and Communication Center, Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager, and Party Leadership Group Member of State Grid Corporation of China. He is currently the Director, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the State Grid Corporation of China.
