On this piece of land with green woods and clear waters cultivating outstanding persons in a beautiful environment, generations of Tsinghua people are passing down their torches ofunremitting efforts tomake self-improvement. Atthis time of the 110th anniversary of the founding of Tsinghua University,more than 80 students from 10 classes including Class 1 and Class 2 of Power Generation, Class 12 and Class 33 of Electrification for Industrial Enterprises, Class 11 and Class 12 of High Voltage Engineering, and Class 11, Class 12, Class 13 and Class 15 of Electrical Machinery admitted in1956 returned tothe campus ofTsinghuaUniversitywith great excitement, and these old students aged from 81 to 89 were warmly received by many electrical engineering leaders includingDeanKang Chongqing and PartyCommittee Secretary Yu Xinjie of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics.

During the two days from April 24 to 25, the meeting room of the West Main Building was lively and warmbecause of thearrival of the alumni. As the saying goes, people are rare in the age of 70, and the youngest alumniadmitted in 1956 is already81 years old, but most of the alumnistillhave quick thinking and strong physique,and some alumnicome to go to the 60th anniversary of graduation even if they are inthe wheelchair.
The alumni of the Department of Electrical Engineeringand Applied Electronics admitted in 1956have not only experienced the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution, but also witnessed the magnificent reform and opening up of China.CherishingTsinghua University’s spirit of “Self-Discipline and Social Commitment” andinheritingthe Department’s motto of “Learningknowledgeand being aright-mindedperson”,they have played an important role in the development and construction of the motherland on all fronts. Theyhave contributed a lot to themotherland,and fulfilled themission and responsibility ofpeople from EEA ofTsinghuaUniversity, and it is the selfless dedication of generation after generationof peoplerepresented by them that hascreated the reputation of Tsinghua University today.
