On the afternoon of August 16, the establishment ceremony of Joint Research Center for Advanced Magnetic Materials and Efficient Energy Conversion of Tsinghua University (Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics) — Qingdao Yunlu Advanced Materials Technology Company was held at Wenjin Hotel, Tsinghua Technology Park, Haidian District, Beijing. Zeng Rong, vice president of Tsinghua University, and Tang Bin, chief accountant and party member of Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) jointly unveiled the Joint Research Center for Advanced Magnetic Materials and Efficient Energy Conversion. Gao Bingxin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of AECC Asset Management Co., Ltd., Chairman and General Manager Li Xiaoyu and Branch Party Committee Secretary Shi Yan of Qingdao Yunlu Advanced Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Party Committee Secretary Yu Xinjie, Dean Kang Chongqing, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Zheng Zedong, Deputy Dean Lu Chao, Professor Jiang Qirong and Associate Researcher Zhang Chunpeng of EEA, attended the ceremony. Zhen Shuning, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Tsinghua University and Director of the Institution Office, presided over the ceremony.

Zeng Rong said in his speech that in November 2017, Chairman Cao Jianguo of AECC led a delegation to visit Tsinghua University and had in-depth exchanges with the former President Qiu Yong, and the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement between the two parties. Since then, both parties have made gratifying achievement in the fields of joint technical research, innovative talent training, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Now, Tsinghua University (EEA) has established a new joint research center with Qingdao Yunlu Advanced Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of AECC, which is a new chapter in the cooperation between the two sides. He hoped that with the joint support from EEA and Yunlu Company, the joint research center will harvest in both scientific research and personnel training, and make greater contribution to the “carbon peak, carbon neutrality” cause and the construction of new power systems!

After the establishment ceremony, Lu Chao, Director of the Management Committee of the Joint Research Center, presided over the first meeting of the Management Committee. Li Xiaoyu, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, and other members of the Management Committee, attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed and approved the joint research center’s charter and a series of management documents, determined the joint research center’s annual work plan, and discussed matters on strengthening collaborative work.
