As the quiet and beautiful Tsinghua University gathers the essence of heaven and earth and nurtures outstanding individuals, a legacy of excellence thrives, and perseverance and the passing of knowledge continue unceasingly. When Tsinghua University celebrated its 113th anniversary, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) organized a series of events to welcome alumni back to campus. Alumni from all directions have gathered as promised, filled with excitement and joy, reminiscing about their glorious past and cherishing the beautiful moments of their youth. “Dear alumni, welcome home!” At 8 a.m., at the registration desk at the entrance of the West Main Building, a team of volunteers made up of current students and department staff warmly greeted the returning alumni with bright smiles and warm greetings.
Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, and Yu Xinjie, Party Secretary, had cordial conversations with the alumni attending the anniversary gatherings and introduced the recent developments in the Department. Over the two days of April 27-28, the department hosted more than 600 returning alumni. Thirteen reunion events were held, including the 60th anniversary for the class graduated in 1964, the 60th anniversary of for the class admitted in 1964, the 50th anniversary for the class graduated in 1974, the 40th anniversary for the class graduated in 1984, the 40th anniversary for the class admitted in 1984, the 35th anniversary for the electrical maters’ class admitted in 1989, the 20th anniversary for the class graduated in 2001, the 21st anniversary of for the class graduated in 2001, the 20th anniversary for the class admitted in 2004, and the 10th anniversary for the electrical doctoral class admitted in 2014.
