On September 25, the 40th Anniversary of the Founding and the 16th Annual Academic Conference of China Electrotechnical Society were held in Beijing.Vice PresidentZeng Rong ofTsinghua University, Dean Kang Chongqing, Party Secretary Yu Xinjie and DeputySecretary Zheng Zedong of theDepartment of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University,Chi Jing fromTsinghua University Education Foundation, and someteachers and alumni from the Department of ElectricalEngineering were invited to the conference.
Vice President Zeng Rong mentioned in his speech that the China Society of Engineering and Technology, as the leading academic group in the field of electrical engineering inChina, has a high academic authority and social influence. The future will be a critical period for thequick development of the global energy Internet.He hopes that the society will continue gathering the wisdom and strength of the vast number of electric power workers and member units, and make persistent efforts to play the role of a bridge.
The meeting commended 62 “ExcellentAcademicWorkers” including Yu Xinjie (Grade 1991).
At the conference,40 expertsand leadersincluding alumni Yan Luguang (1953), Gu Guobiao (1953), Chen Qingquan (1957), Zhou Xiaoxin (1959), Guan Zhicheng (1964), Ma Weiming (1993)of the Department of Electrical Engineering, were granted the “Medal forSpecial Contribution”.
At the same time,the first batch offellows of the society was announced, andLi Yongdong (post-doctorate ofGrade1988) and Ma Weiming (doctor of Grade1993) ofthe Department ofElectrical Engineering wereenrolled.
At the same time as the 40thAnniversary of theFounding of theSociety, the “16thAnnual AcademicConference ofChina Electrotechnical Society” was held with athemed conference and topic meetings, etc.At the themed conference, Liu Jizhen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of the State KeyLaboratoryofNewEnergyPowerSystems,Hao Yucheng, Supervisory Chairman of China Electrotechnical Society and President of SINOMACH Intelligent Technology Research Institute, Professor Zhao Zhengming of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University (Ph.D.of Grade1987), Li Yaohua (Ph.D.of Grade1990), President andResearcher of the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences,He Jinghan,Party Secretary and Professor of the School of Electrical Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Zheng Yanjun, Director and Professor of Electrical Discipline Projects of ChinaNational Natural Science Foundation were invited to discuss key technologiesand frontier orientations deeplyin the field of electrical engineering centered at “ElectricalTheories andFrontier Technologies for Carbon Neutrality”, as well as new paths fordevelopment of energy and power industry and scientific research and innovation. The themed conference waspresided over by Rong Mingzhe,ViceChairman of China Electrotechnical Society and VicePresident of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Kang Chongqing (Grade 1988),Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University.
