From January 26 to 28, Researcher Ci Song from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) attended the ACWA Power Innovation Days 2026 hosted by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power, where he delivered an invited talk and participated in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony. The summit, themed “Innovate for Impact,” was held at The Garage in Riyadh’s innovation district.
Ci Song Delivers Presentation
Ci Song’s presentation, titled Frontiers of Industrial AI: Breakthroughs from Research Labs, focused on cutting-edge fields such as machine learning, robotics, and control theory that are expected to reshape the industrial landscape. He introduced research progress in self-learning algorithms, autonomous inspection platforms, and real-time optimization models, and analyzed their maturity for industrial deployment. Entrusted as a representative of EEA, Ci Song attended the MoU exchange ceremony with ACWA Power. The MoU was signed by Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, and Thomas Altman, Executive Senior Vice President of ACWA Power. It expressed both parties’ willingness and objectives to explore future collaboration areas, including but not limited to renewable energy technologies, Dynamic Reconfigurable Battery Network-Based Energy Storage Technology (DRBN-BEST), artificial intelligence and big data technologies, and smart grid technologies.
Ci Song Attends MoU Exchange Ceremony
It is reported that this Innovation Days event was the fourth edition organized by ACWA Power. Supported by the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia, it was led by ACWA Power and jointly organized with institutions such as King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). A total of 27 strategic cooperation agreements were signed during the event, covering areas such as industrial artificial intelligence, long-duration energy storage, and green hydrogen, linking top global universities to promote the transformation of laboratory prototypes into industrial-scale deployable solutions.
