On the afternoon of June 18, a delegation led by Ouyang Qin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Capital University of Economics and Business, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) and attended a research and exchange seminar. The seminar was hosted by Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of EEA, Yu Zhanqing, Deputy Party Secretary, and Zhang Pinjia, Deputy Director of the Department.
Zheng Zedong warmly welcomed the visiting experts from Capital University of Economics and Business and subsequently provided an introduction to EEA. He gave a detailed report on the department’s Party building efforts, work strategies, and future outlook. He emphasized that EEA Party Committee will continue to follow the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the university’s Party committee, leveraging its role as a "National Benchmark for Party Building" to guide further progress. He also emphasized adhering to the department’s motto of "Strive for knowledge with rigor, and uphold integrity as a person," and he reiterated the commitment to achieving mutual promotion and integration of Party work and academic development, aiming to build a world-class electrical engineering discipline with Chinese characteristics and contribute to the university's "Double First-Class" initiative. This effort would also help advanceChina's modernization and national rejuvenation through Tsinghua's contributions.
Ouyang Qin praised the effectiveness of EEA's Party building work. He stated that the department has a profound historical legacy and rigorous academic tradition, and the related work experience provides valuable insights and lessons. He expressed hope for further strengthening communication and cooperation between the two institutions, fully understanding President Xi Jinping’s important directives on building an education powerhouse, and focusing on the goal of high-quality development. He emphasized that with a spirit of tackling challenges, both sides should work together to elevate their efforts to new heights.
Before the meeting, Zheng Zedong and Yu Zhanqing guided the visiting experts from Capital University of Economics and Business on a tour of EEA’s history museum.
