On the afternoon of April 1, a delegation from the Qinghai Branch of China Huadian Corporation Ltd. visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) for an exchange meeting. The delegation included Shan Hongsheng, General Manager; Min Guozheng, Deputy Director of the Production Technology Department; and Hao Xinchao, Technology Specialist of the Production Technology Department. Present at the meeting were Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of the Department; Min Yong, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Power System Operation and Control; Xu Fei, Deputy Director of the Laboratory; Hu Wei, Assistant Dean and Office Director; along with five other representatives. The meeting was chaired by Hu Wei.
Zheng Zedong welcomed the guests from Huadian’s Qinghai Branch and noted that the discussion centered around the State Key Laboratory of Power System Operation and Control and related initiatives within the department. He emphasized the extensive and in-depth collaboration between the Qinghai Branch and the department, and expressed hope to strengthen ties and foster joint development in areas such as photovoltaics and thermal energy storage.
Shan Hongsheng expressed his sincere pleasure in visiting the department and introduced the background and project progress of the Qinghai Branch. He stressed the importance of proactively planning for cutting-edge areas such as ecological management, integrated energy systems, artificial intelligence, and communication technologies. He looked forward to both sides integrating their strengths, developing a detailed action plan, and jointly advancing research and applications in these areas.
Xu Fei provided an overview of the research work at the State Key Laboratory of Power Systems, while Min Guozheng introduced the R&D efforts of the Qinghai Branch. Subsequently, Sun Yunchao, Chen Lei, Hao Ling, and Liang Xu gave in-depth presentations on Tsinghua University’s research in multi-energy complementarity in desert regions, fixed-frequency control, thermal power peak shaving, and system simulation. The meeting concluded with summary remarks by Min Yong.
Before the meeting, the delegation from Huadian Qinghai Branch was guided on a tour of the department’s history museum and the State Key Laboratory of Power System Operation and Control.
