On April 26, the 1st Academic Salon for Faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) in 2023 was held in the West Main Building. The event attracted nearly 60 faculty members. Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, and Yu Xinjie, Secretary of Party Committee of EEA, attended the event. The salon was presided over by Wu Wenchuan, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of EEA.
Kang Chongqing delivered a speech
Kang Chongqing began with a welcome speech. He pointed out that the high quality development of EEA is inseparable from the simultaneous development of all secondary disciplines, and the academic exchange and collision of ideas among various disciplines and research directions within the Department is very beneficial to the promotion of higher-level organized scientific research.

Young faculty members Yi Chen Yi and Li Shisong gave academic presentations on “Progress and Prospects of Photovoltaic Power Generation Technology” and “Quantum Electromagnetic Measurement and Its Applications in Cross Fields” respectively, which triggered lively exchanges and discussions among the faculty members present.
Yu Xinjie delivered a speech
Yu Xinjie made a concluding speech. He expressed the full support of the Party Committee of EEA to promote various forms of communication within the department, and made suggestions to further expand the form and content of the academic salon.
At the salon
The Academic Salon of EEA Faculty is a restart and upgrade of the Academic Salon of EEA Young Faculty Members interrupted by the pandemic. This year, six academic salons are planned to be held, which will be organized by the labour union of EEA and hosted by each faculty branch in turn. It provides a platform for regular communication among the faculty members of EEA, and also provides a rare platform for many young teachers to showcase and promote themselves. The restart of the academic salon for teachers of EEA after the pandemic and the continuous enrichment of the organizational form will play a very positive role in promoting the scientific research and teaching work of EEA to a new level.
