On March 13, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Institute) and Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as Sichuan Institute) of Tsinghua University held the “First Joint Meeting of ‘One Department and Two Institutes’ in 2023” in Hall 102, Zone 3, West Main Building of Tsinghua University. More than 20 people attended the meeting, including Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of Party Committee of EEA, Gao Wensheng, Executive President of the Beijing Institute, and Lu Zong, Executive Vice President of the Sichuan Institute. The meeting was presided over by Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, president of the Beijing Institute and president of the Sichuan Institute.
At the meeting, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, Gao Wensheng, Executive Dean of the Beijing Institute, and Lu Zongxiang, Executive Vice President of the Sichuan Institute, respectively introduced work in 2022 and the plan in 2023 from the perspective of team building, talent training, technological innovation, achievement transformation and industrial development. In the following reporting and discussing sessions, Professor Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of EEA, introduced the transformation of achievements. Liu Yi, Vice President of the Sichuan Institute, introduced policy support, key points of technology licensing and transformation process. Professor Zhu Guiping, Deputy Dean of EEA, introduced the enrollment and training for the Southwest Engineering Doctoral Program. Lv Lanchun, Assistant to the President of the Sichuan Institute and Director of the Scientific Research Management Department, introduced the situation of organized scientific research and platform construction. Professor Chen Qixin, director of the Energy Internet Think Tank Research Center of the Beijing Institute, introduced the work on the think tank. Professor Gao Wensheng, Executive President of the Beijing Institute, introduced the promotion of the alliance industry. In the exchange and discussion session, the participants conducted in-depth discussions on each topic.
Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, affirmed the work achievements of each unit in 2022. Regarding the work in 2023, Kang Chongqing pointed out that the first point is to keep promoting transformation of achievements; the second point is to make the achievements keep pace with industrial development and national strategic needs, and make the actualized; the third is to enhance the internationalization of think tanks; the fourth is to implement data sharing with enterprises to provide greater support for scientific research; the fifth is a suggestion that the alliance development could learn from the academic model and better serve enterprises with academic guidance; the last is to improve the linkage mechanism between the One Department and two Institutes, appoint the project leaders, and fully use the advantages of resources and platforms. The construction and operation of state key laboratories should also be engaged with the functions of the two Institutes so as to form a top-down organized scientific research structure. As the plan of the whole year must be made in spring, he hoped the One Department and Two Institutes could make a good start, make a good layout, and make good results.
