On November 8, 2022, China Energy Research Society announced the 2022 CERS Energy Innovation Awards, and decided to commend 142 academic, management and technological innovation projects and 60 outstanding young energy science and technology workers. The project “Multi-Time Scale Demand Response Theory and Application” completed under the leadership of Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute won the first prize for academic innovation.

In the new round of energy revolution, the intelligence level of the energy system with the power system as the core is constantly improving. Large-scale science and technology parks, industrial, commercial and residential loads will be gradually given the capacity to respond to demand. In the face of challenges such as large differences in demand response resources, decentralization, complex timing, and difficulty in evaluation, Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua University and other relevant units have established a multi-time scale demand response theory and carried out large-scale applications through joint research.
At present, the project achievement has been successfully applied to government departments, power grid companies, and power users in Jiangsu, Beijing, Guangdong, Henan, Gansu and some other provinces and cities, brought remarkable social and economic benefits, effectively promoted low-carbon energy transformation, and clean and green social development, and is of great significance of application and demonstration nationwide.
