On the morning of May 28, 2022, the opening ceremony of “Tsinghua University—IET Academic Forum of Electrical Engineering”, also the 659th Doctoral Students’ Forum of Tsinghua University, was held online through Tencent Meeting. The ceremony was simultaneously broadcast in the live broadcast room of the Carbon Neutrality Postgraduate Forum of Tsinghua University, the Bilibili live broadcast room of the Association of Postgraduate of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, the Bilibili live broadcast room of the Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering, and the official video account. Du Zhongming, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the General Electric Power Planning and Design Institute, Paulo Lopes, Director of IET China, Zhang Wan, Member Relation Manager of IET, Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) of Tsinghua University, Professor Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA and special guest of IET, Associate Professor Xu Tao of Tianjin University, Associate Professor Yi Chenyi of Tsinghua University, representatives from Journal Center of China Electric Power Research Institute, Journal Center of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, magazine press “Power System Protection and Control”, editorial office of the journal “Global Energy Internet”, and EEA teachers He Jinliang, Li Yongdong, Zhou Yuanxiang, Guo Jingbo, Zhu Guiping, Huang Songling, Lu Zongxiang, Lu Chao, Hu Wei, Li Qi, Lu Haifeng, Zhang Chunpeng, Wang Peng, Zhong Haiwang and so on attended the ceremony, which was chaired by Zheng Zedong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of EEA.
In addition, there were more than 140 representatives in the main venue of this forum, and about 13,000 people watched the live broadcast of the opening ceremony in the live broadcast rooms of Tsinghua University and the Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering.
Zheng Zedong introduced the outline of this doctoral forum. Since the start of the forum’s call for papers, various units across the country have actively contributed, and a total of 153 papers have been accepted by this forum.
Kang Chongqing, dean of EEA, delivered a speech. He first introduced the history, themes and goals of the Doctoral Students’ Forum of EEA, and pointed out the forum is an important platform to promote exchange and innovation of postgraduates, and encouraged students to have lively discussions and in-depth exchanges. He also expressed his heartfelt thanks to IET and the co-organizers for their great support to this forum. In addition, Professor Kang Chongqing also expressed his gratitude to the teachers and students of the organizing committee of this academic forum for their hard work, and wished this academic forum a complete success.
Paulo Lopes, Director of IET China, delivered a speech. Mr. Paulo Lopes highlighted the important partnership between Tsinghua University and IET. He believed that Tsinghua University has a long history and great international influence. He also briefly introduced the history, outline and fields of the IET, hoping the two sides can expand cooperation in the future. Finally, Mr. Paulo Lopes wished this academic forum a complete success.
Du Zhongming, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the General Electric Power Planning and Design Institute, made a keynote report entitled “Technological Innovation of New-type Power System under the Dual-Carbon Goal”. The report systematically analyzed the trend of energy transition, main problems in the current power system, morphological characteristics of the new-type power system, and orientations for carbon neutrality construction.
Associate Professor Yi Chenyi of EEA, Tsinghua University gave a keynote report entitled “Exploration of Perovskite Photovoltaic Power Generation Technology from Laboratory to Industrialization”. The report introduced the process of preparation and exploration of high-quality perovskite films, explained the superiority in comprehensive properties, and looked forward to future work scenarios.
Xu Tao, a special guest of IET and associate professor of Tianjin University, gave a keynote report entitled “Interdisciplinary Research and Publishing in the Energy Field”, which described the research content of smart distribution grid planning and operation control, and distributed intelligence and decision-making, introduced the paper content that the authors and reviewers pay attention to from different perspectives, and gave targeted suggestions for paper submission and publication.
Finally, Xu Chaoqun, a doctoral student and the winner of the 2022 Academic Rookie of EEA, gave a report entitled “Key Technologies and Application of IGCT-based DC Converters”, which systematically introduced his research team’s theoretical research and practice in IGCT-based DC converters, presenting the style of doctoral students of EEA.
So far, the opening ceremony of “Tsinghua University—IET Academic Forum of Electrical Engineering”, also the 659th Doctoral Students’ Forum of Tsinghua University was completed successfully.
