Professor SHI Anbin, TSJC's associate dean of international development, was invited to speak on CCTV to comment the leadership transition in China. He highlighted the models of China's leadership: the literati/militia (Mao and Deng), technocrats (Jiang/Hu) and social science professionals (Xi and Li, both holding Ph.D. in law and/or economics). He also emphasized the fact that the new leadership adopted a more open and friendly attitude toward the emergent social media (weibo).
